Have you ever felt that awkward feeling when wearing clothes that, while beautiful, seem to overshadow you?
You might be trying too hard to be fashionable, only to end up looking like you’re trying too hard.
This might be because the clothes have become the main focus, and you yourself are not being “enhanced.”
As a designer for 30 years, my consistent focus has always been on “how to enhance the wearer.”
The art of “enhancing” that I learned from figure skating costumes
My work originates from creating figure skating costumes.
The skater performing on the ice is the star, and the costume is merely a “device” to amplify their appeal many times over.
- How to move the fabric in time with the climax of the music.
- How to make the skin appear brighter under the rink’s lighting.
- How to beautifully highlight the skater’s silhouette even from the distant audience seats.
All of these are calculated to enhance the “star”—the skater. This perspective is exactly the same when choosing everyday clothes.
For adult women, the quality of their supporting role is what sets them apart.
As we age into our 40s and 50s, it becomes more difficult to dress with the same “exuberance” as we did in our youth.
Many people say they “don’t have the courage to wear bright colors,” but
In reality, “color” and “shine” aren’t meant to stand out; they’re “light” that brightens your complexion.
For example, the “power net skirts” and “painted accessories” I create.
They may seem unique at first glance, but when you actually wear them, they blend surprisingly well with your skin.
This is because I’ve calculated the skin tones of Japanese people and the body types of adults, and deliberately layered “colors” to create depth and transparency.
It’s not about clothes walking on their own; it’s about your own charm gently emerging the moment you move.
That’s what I consider “the perfect supporting act.”
To highlight and give form to “feelings”
Clothing is not just about covering the body.
For example, this painted coat.
The artwork on the back is inspired by the owner’s cherished memories and the bond with their child.

A unique way of enhancing your look that mass-produced items simply cannot replicate.
Remaking your existing clothes to breathe new life into them, reflecting your current style, is also one of my most important services.
The studio is a “strategy room” designed to bring out your best.
“I don’t know how to flatter myself.” “I’m lost about what suits me.”
For people like you, our atelier in Kiyota Ward, Sapporo, is a private space available by appointment only.
Instead of simply choosing ready-made items, we offer millimeter-precise adjustments and coordination suggestions from the perspective of a professional costume designer, taking into account your bone structure, skin tone, and your desired look.
Right now, you are the star of the show.
Opening the door to my studio is the first step to discovering a new you.
Why not relax with a cup of coffee and discover the “magic that enhances you” in front of the mirror?
For those far away, please visit my online shop (BASE) to experience the works that embody this “enhancing mechanism.”
